The Baruch softball team won two of three games on Sunday afternoon in a day highlighted by a Senior Day Ceremony and strong pitching.
The team shutout Polytechnic in the opener, 6-0, behind Ally Stamatiades. The sophomore pitched a one-hitter and struck out eight batters. She also homered and knocked in three RBI.
Seniors Jessica Terrusa (two runs) and Nicole Errico (one run) also contributed to the offensive attack.
In the second game against Polytechnic, Baruch (4-10, 2-2 CUNYAC) was unable to get the offense on track and lost, 2-0. Jacquelyn Calandriello hit a two-run homer that was enough to clinch the doubleheader split.
In the final game against Medgar Evers, Baruch received a one-hit pitching performance from junior Kathy Maher to win, 11-0.
Terrusa hit a double and knocked in two RBI, while junior Rose Tejada batted 3-for-3 with three singles, two walks, and two RBI. Laureano recorded a single to drive in two RBI.
